Jinlong Great Wall Scenic Area is located in Jinlong Village, Luodai Town, Longquanyi District, Chengdu. It is a replica ancient-style Great Wall built along the mountain. The wall is about 1,680 meters long, winding from the foot of the mountain to the summit of Jinlong Mountain, with five beacon towers along the way – a magnificent sight. Though not a historical ruin, its grey-brick walls follow the mountain's contours and blend into the natural scenery, making it a popular spot for climbing and enjoying views near Chengdu.

The scenic area is set against the natural scenery of Longquan Mountain and has something to see all year round: peach blossoms in spring, lush green trees in summer, colorful forests in autumn, and occasional snow in winter. At the top of the wall, you can overlook Luodai Ancient Town, Jinlong Lake, and the Chengdu Plain with wide-open views. The area also features Jinlong Temple and Jinlong Lake, combining hiking, sightseeing, and relaxation.

The atmosphere is peaceful, and visitors are mainly local residents and self-driving travelers from nearby areas. On holidays it can get crowded, but on weekdays it is fairly quiet, making it suitable for family trips or hiking with friends.

What to expect

You'll climb the steps of the replica Great Wall with green forests on both sides, and pause at beacon towers to look around. At the summit, the view opens up to Luodai Ancient Town and the Chengdu city area. Jinlong Temple and Jinlong Lake are also within the scenic area, so you can explore them too.

How to visit

From downtown Chengdu, take the metro or bus to Luodai Town, then take a taxi or drive to the scenic area. The visit is mostly walking and takes about 2–3 hours in total, so wear comfortable sports shoes. You can combine it with a one-day Luodai Ancient Town trip.
